Two motorcoach operations recently were admitted to the International Motorcoach Group (IMG), a private network that enables operators to establish and meet performance benchmarks in a peer-to-peer learning environment.

The two companies are Village Travel, based in Wichita, Kansas, and Premier Transportation of Knoxville, Tenn.

The additions in December bring the total number of IMG members to 56 motorcoach operations. Each of IMG’s member companies are required to adhere to strict standards and qualifications for invitation-only membership that ensure they operate with the highest levels of performance.

IMG President Bronwyn Wilson, who praised the new members as outstanding companies, said in a press release that the two companies combined expands IMG’s North American reach to Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Village Travel Big On Ski Tours

Village Travel was founded in 1980 with an emphasis on ski tours to Colorado from Kansas. Motorcoaches were introduced shortly thereafter to handle their tours and eventually charter business. In 2000, President and owner Jeff Arensdorf and his father, Norman, bought the company and have grown it to a fleet of 139 motorcoaches.

It operates more than 200 tours annually and serves the entertainer coach market. In addition to its headquarters in Wichita, Village Travel has facilities in Salina, Kansas, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., Ft. Smith and Springdale, Ark., and Springfield, Mo.

“At Village Travel, we’ve always looked at IMG as representing some of the best coach operators in the country,” Arensdorf said. “We are excited to become a member of such a great group due to the driver training, networking and on-road support that IMG members provide to each other. Our geographic footprint fits into the existing network well, our membership will be a win-win.”

Premier is the contracted service provider for most East Tennesse area colleges, universities, high schools, semi-pro sports teams, area chambers of commerce, churches, and youth groups.
