Goodman was loved and will be missed by many operators in the luxury transportation industry.

Tami Saccoccio, director of operations and global affiliate relations for Commonwealth Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation in Boston, offered these insights on Goodman: "When I first met Neil over 15 years ago I thought he was larger than life. As the years went on that proved to be true. Neil was a legend in our industry, a true icon, as many of us call The Godfather, and I'm blessed to call him family. There are so many wonderful things I can say, and I want to make him proud.

"Neil was so very passionate about his company Aventura, the best partner we've had for over 15 years! There was not a VIP that could slip by him. We all got those emails, texts, and calls with the "heads up, my good friend is coming to your city..senior chauffeur". We would all jump.

"He was also so passionate about out industry, and was involved with his local association. He loved golf, sports, and we all know how much he loved the Miami Heat, He would often banter back and forth with me about ALL the Boston sports teams.

"His true passion was his family, and the love for his wife, Toni. I often called them a true love story. My heart is completely broken for her. This industry has lost one of the greatest, and I lost a member of my family.

"To the Goodman family and Aventura family, know that your limo family will always be there for you, by your side, for anything you need. Rest In Peace my dear friend. Until we meet again!"

Here's a roundup of some comments from social media. [LCT will update this tribute with other comments as we get them].

George Jacobs, Windy City Limousine and Bus: "Some of the saddest words I can imagine. We lost one of the greatest people ever in this industry. Neil Goodman of Aventura passed away today. Condolences to his wife Toni, step-son Scott, and the rest of his lovely family. No bigger heart than he had. I will miss you, Neil."

Don Mahnke, ABC Worldwide Transportation: "Neil was larger than life. Miami will never be the same without him. Rest in peace, my friend."

Diane Forgy, Overland Chauffeured Services: "My heart is breaking. It was an honor to know and work with Neil. I enjoyed our conversations and respected him immensely. Such a sweet, caring man. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Prayers and love to Toni and his family."

Tami Ameral Saccoccio, Commonwealth Worldwide Executive Transportation: "Dawson and I are just devastated as I write this in tears. He was our best friend, The Godfather, a mentor, and like a father to me. I always called him 'my favorite.' We have so many memories of our limo family together, always through good times and bad. Toni Goodman, we will always be here for you! Always! Our limo family sticks together!!! Rest In Peace Neil! Forever in our hearts, prayers, and our amazing memories."

Jason Sharenow, Broadway Elite Chauffeured Services Worldwide: "Neil was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I flew to Miami once at his invitation to meet with him and Tom Mazza. He offered unrestricted access to his business and knowledge. Many takeaways that resonate with me today. A loss to our industry and to mankind alike."

Jeff Greene, Greene Worldwide Transportation: "I am so sad, but more so for his amazing wife Toni and loving son Scott and the rest of his family. Neil and I were close friends for 30 years. I cannot imagine a world without the most caring, considerate, and true gentleman he was. My heart is just breaking as I know everyone else is. Rest in peace, my dear friend!"

The LCT Team: "Our entire LCT team was saddened to learn of the passing of Neil Goodman, owner of Aventura Limousine. Neil was instrumental in providing transportation at the LCT Summits held in Miami. He helped coordinate our golf outings as well. Over the years Neil (and his staff) provided a wealth of information for LCT articles and was a loyal supporter, advertiser, info source, and most importantly, a friend. Our condolences to all who called Neil a friend and colleague."

Neil was a true friend, a mentor, a legend, and an honorable man. I am so grateful for meeting him many years ago, learning from him, doing business with him, and most of all being friends with him. Toni, his family, and the rest of us have lost a great person, and will forever miss him. My love and prayers to all his loved ones.
