It was a sad day when General Motors announced plans earlier this year to close down three North American assembly plants, putting 6,000 jobs at risk and the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Volt, Impala, and Cruze, as well as the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, and CT6. But then came the news the CT6 isn't dead after all. Cadillac’s then-President Steve Carlisle asserted the company "never said” the CT6 was getting the chop as the luxury sedan is going to be a showcase for Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous tech and the Blackwing V8 engine.

What still isn’t clear, however, is where Cadillac CT6 production will take place following the closure of General Motor’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, which prompted Cadillac Society to contact the automaker to find out what the future holds for the CT6 in America.
