The 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is a business-like and square-edged work van, so it makes perfect sense it’s been given a seriously tough job to accomplish.

Not only does the reinvigorated Sprinter have to prove itself to a work-focused customer base, one where every saved dollar counts, it must justify the construction of a brand-new, $500 million factory in Charleston, S.C., built to satisfy Sprinter demand in the U.S. and Canada.
