Private and public school transportation is a potential niche market operators may consider since it can drive business and brand growth.
“It’s not very popular there, and I thought most people just hired someone to drive them around themselves,” she explains. “I used to wonder about that when I saw them on TV and in movies. Even now, when I go to networking events, many people aren’t aware of the services companies like Mundi can provide.”
Regardless of what other people know about the business, Noches believes it’s where she belongs. “I love that it’s allowed me to get to know people from around the world. The collaboration between companies is amazing. The people in this industry are very warm, and the versatility of my position allows me to cover different areas of the business at the same time. I don’t like monotony, and that’s the beauty of this industry.”
Anyone interested in being a part of the luxury transportation industry has to start somewhere, she says. “It’s not about the size of the company you get started with, but the effort you put in. There’s absolutely no reason to be ashamed if you work for a company with only a few cars — you just need to prove yourself.” This means always thinking big and reflecting on what you can do to improve. Her job was only supposed to be part-time to help her provide for her family, but she soon grew to love it and converted it into a career. “You must take pride in what you do. If you don’t have a passion for it, don’t do it.”
Through her hard work and determination, she absorbed a lot of knowledge, and has put it to great use making events happen and pleasing clients. “Nothing beats the feeling you get when you know the client is satisfied with the service you’ve provided. We make things happen in peoples’ lives, and that’s something to be proud of.” In terms of her biggest success, she says, “Success can be anything, as long as you’re happy.”
Noches has five years of experience in the industry, and recently accepted a position with her good friend and industry colleague Fernando Carlson Jr.’s company, Mudi Limousine focusing 100% on high-end clients. “The connection was always there, and I’ve known [Carlison and his business partner Bernardo Botelho] since I began my journey in the industry. I relied on them a lot when I needed help, and they were always the first call I’d make. We have the same ambition and common ideas that are made possible through solid teamwork.”
As the affiliate manager for the company, she says the hardest part of finding quality affiliates is discovering businesses that share the same service standards as Mundi. This includes everything from chauffeurs to billing, communication, and cars. This can be especially difficult in a small city with few options to choose from.
“We want to expand our company, and if another business doesn’t share our same values, we are potentially risking an account. Since you’re not physically there, you need to be able to trust someone who will hopefully do what they are supposed to.”
Mundi’s vehicle count varies by season, but stands at 20-25. Its fleet includes SUVs, sedans, Sprinter vans, and minibuses.
