LOS ANGELES --- Johne Baker, who has been a longtime fixture on the California limousine industry scene, joined MOTEV of Los Angeles on June 11 as its new global affiliate manager.

Baker brings more than two decades of experience to the 28-vehicle operation with a luxury vehicle fleet consistenting mostly of electric Tesla Models S and X and Mercedes-Benz Hybrid S550e sedans. MOTEV also runs Chevrolet Suburbans, Sprinter vans, and Cadillac vehicles.

"Our innovative model and the increasing demand from our customers led us to look for an addition to our team who would fit in with our ethos of innovation and exceptional service," MOTEV said in a statement. "It is very fortunate we were able to find someone of Johne’s caliber to fulfil this role."

Baker most recently worked as global affiliate and operations manager for the Los Angeles division of San Francisco-based Mosaic Global Transportation, a position he held since 2014. He left the company in May. Mosaic in March won the 2018 LCT Operator of the Year Award in the 51+ vehicles category.

Before Mosaic, Baker was a part owner and later affiliate manager for A-List Worldwide Transportation in Los Angeles from 1997-2014. He previously worked for the former Fox Limousine of Los Angeles.

MOTEV is owned by a group of partners and headed by veteran Los Angeles operator and chauffeur Robert Gaskill, who is also a board director for the Greater California Livery Association. The company has distinguished itself on the Southern California market through its use of a mostly green vehicle fleet and support for local environmental causes and efforts.

"We view his alignment with our brand as evidence of our commitment to being one of the leading companies in our industry," MOTEV said in its statement. "We are confident Johne will play a vital part in the expansion of Motev’s global presence in the transportation industry."
