Don't Leave Uber To The Courts

Uber's drivers aren't employees in the old-fashioned sense -- and they aren't independent contractors in the old-fashioned sense either. This is a new kind of employment relationship. It needs to be recognized, and regulated, accordingly.

    They are not employees. They are *dependent* contractors.
