U.S. automakers are shifting emphasis from sedans to SUVs and crossover models as more customers prefer larger vehicles.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Chauffeured vehicle dealer David Bastian stays true to form, on the lake, in the video, and for LCT-NLA Show East, coming to Harrah’s Atlantic City Nov. 5-7.
Bastian, the commercial sales manager for Towne Livery, has made a name for himself in recent years developing videos of Ford and Lincoln limo vehicles debuting to trade show attendees in the chauffeured transportation industry.
The latest videos of the 2018 Ford Expedition MAX and the 2018 Lincoln Navigator L were produced by Galora Productions, owned by director Peter McGennis.
The Expedition video, shot Oct. 2 at Woodlawn Beach along Lake Erie in Hamburg, N.Y., ties into the LCT East Show theme of Catch The Wave. It features a clip of world champion wake skater Reed Hansen being pulled by a 2017 Supra SE450- 550 wake boat and then cuts to David Bastian in front of a green screen at his dealership being pulled on the lake.
“We reached out to Supra and they let us use a clip of a boat with wake skater,” Bastian said. “My stunt double Reed Hanson is one of the most famous champion wake skaters in the world.
The Lincoln Navigator video, also shot Oct. 2 at Woodlawn Beach, features a rogue pirate theme. It was first used as the promotional video for the Chauffeur Driven Show in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 22-25, and then adapted to an LCT audience.
“We first though we would pretend we’re pirates looking for a new ship, or a new Navigator,” Bastian said. “Peter said let’s have us looking for a gator instead.”
Both videos interweave official Ford and Lincoln advertising footage to showcase features of the SUVs.
Other actors in the videos include (pirate) Norm Liss, who has worked with Towne Livery at trade shows for 14 years, and Sydney and Morgan, two actresses from Galora Productions.
Order banks for the Expedition and Navigator livery editions are now open, and the first ones from Job 1 should be joining chauffeured fleets in November.
