TNCs Recruiting More Drivers For RNC In Cleveland

The two app-triggered alternatives for hiring a ride say they are ready for their first exposure at a national political convention.

Spokespersons for Uber and its competitor Lyft say they will have plenty of drivers ready to be connected with passengers, who use their mobile devices to summon rides.

In 2012, the Republicans convened in Tampa. Democrats met in Charlotte. Neither company was operating in those cities.

The companies could not say how many drivers will be available for the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, but acknowledged they are building their numbers.
