Cadillac Escalade Or Lincoln Navigator?

Posted on May 9, 2016

Both the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator are popular chauffeured vehicles, but which reigns supreme in the battle of luxury SUVs?

The Escalade features a 6.2-liter small-block V8. It puts out a stout 420 horses along with 460 lb-ft of peak torque. Maximizing its flexibility is a ratio-rich eight-speed automatic transmission. It also has a richly appointed cabin, with real metal, wood and leather. The dashboard and doors are wrapped in cut-and-sewn hides for an opulent appearance.

The Navigator's powertrain, on the other hand, is totally different. In lieu of a big V8 it’s hauled around by a turbocharged EcoBoost V6. What it lacks in cylinder count and deep-throated rumble it more than makes up for with efficient performance. This 3.5-liter unit delivers 380 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of low-RPM twist (torque peaks at just 2,750 RPM).
