TORRANCE, Calif. -- Two used Cadillac De Ville/DTS stretch sedans at least a decade old are on sale at Limoforsale.com. Both were deployed for funeral service, which generally means the limos handled shorter, predictable runs at slower speeds with well-behaved passengers and kept in immaculate condition. Translation: Low miles @ reasonable cost in comparatively good condition.

For operators who still need a shorter, corporate-style limo without spending much money, these stretches could prove ideal. The limousine industry is seeing growth in all types of service niches. Offering a more "old-school" stretch option to a wider based of clientele, including those who prefer lower rates, could prove beneficial. The appeal of these Cadillacs is that they are formal and classy, but understated.

There's only one problem. The Northstar was THE worst motor. I owned one. One was enough. A Cadillac mechanic once told me that when they came out with that piece of junk GM told them it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Not quite. He said they would cringe every time one came in for work. Sad though, the car was pretty.
