WASHINGTON — The ABA Marketplace will have more than 100,000 face-to-face business meetings with people from all across North America next week to book hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of business to destinations, attractions and hotels in the United States and Canada. They will also take advantage of professionally run educational programs and network with fellow business leaders.
More than 3,300 delegates are registered and will attend ABA’s 36th Marketplace Jan. 11-15. At ABA’s 2013 Marketplace in Charlotte, N.C., the New York City-based economic consulting firm John Dunham and Associates reported that the convention generated more than $108.3 million in total business at the event and in future economic activity. John Dunham and Associates will be at Marketplace again this year conducting the latest survey.
Americans are Riding Motorcoaches
At Marketplace, DePaul University of Chicago will release its annual report showing the seventh consecutive year of growth in departures for the curbside segment of the motorcoach industry. The director of DePaul’s Chaddick Institute, Professor Joseph P. Schwieterman, along with ABA President and CEO Peter Pantuso and ABA Chairman Tom JeBran, will present the report and take questions from reporters on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 10a.m. CST/11 am. EST.

The ABA Foundation will host both a live and silent auction to raise money for industry research and scholarship initiatives. Great evening events that showcase Nashville, including an exclusive concert for Marketplace delegates by country music star Martina McBride at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum on Sunday, Jan. 12. On Monday Jan. 13, it’s “A Night at the Grand Ole Opry.”
