Uber Driver Charged With Assault Has Criminal Past

Posted on January 7, 2014

An Uber driver in San Francisco had been accused of verbally and physically assaulting a passenger has a criminal record, including felony and misdemeanor charges, and at least one felony conviction involving prison time, the website Pando.com reports. How, or why, Uber missed — or ignored — this criminal history is unclear.

Passenger James Alva claims the driver called him a “dirty Mexican faggot” during a ride Nov. 23 and then struck him several times when Alva tried to take a photo of him and his license plate to send to Uber.

if the driver had a previous felony he won't get hired by uber. That's their policy to my understanding. To me it seems like yellow cab of that area paid somebody to do the dirty job.
