ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Taking advantage of the inaugural LCT Show East, the National Limousine Association (NLA) Board of Directors gathered in Atlantic City Wednesday for a day-long business meeting. Board members also participated in the many show sessions as speakers, panelists, and moderators, sharing their industry expertise and insight with attendees.

Extremely pleased with first-year industry attendance and exhibitor participation, the board unanimously voted to support the show’s return next year to Atlantic City, Oct. 19-21, 2014 again at Caesars Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Convention Center.

Topics discussed at the meeting included the rising concern with Uber and other private transportation app companies, and increasing communication with members regarding the many NLA initiatives, successes, and continual nationwide work lobbying for the industry. NLA Executive Director Philip Jagiela said the NLA will be gearing up for the mid-term elections, supporting candidates with its PAC funds who champion industry interests.

NLA President Gary Buffo (Pure Luxury Transportation) reiterated that the LCT shows are the major centers of annual fundraising activities for the NLA. For every dollar attendees spend on registration fees, 85% goes directly to the NLA. In fact, the board supported a proposal from NLA board director Dawson Rutter (Commonwealth Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation), who advocated starting an “Association Loyalty Program.” that will provide financial incentives for industry associations that support the NLA by attending and supporting LCT shows and NLA events.

The next quarterly NLA Board of Director meetings will be held Dec. 9 in Sonoma, Calif., and on Feb. 15, 2014 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas just before the International LCT Show.

All registered NLA members are welcome to attend and observe quarterly NLA board meetings. The NLA can be reached at (856) 596-3344 or [email protected]
