American Airlines Plans Hourly JFK To LAX Shuttle Service

FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines has plans to launch a shuttle service from JFK to LAX sometime in early 2014. The idea is American will utilize its new A321s on the route, replacing the current B767s and reducing the seat number per flight from 168 to 102.

All three classes of passengers on the A321 will have a better flight experience than with current B767s – American Previews Upgraded Fleet Plans & Interiors – Steps It Up.

The new A321 features fully lie-flat seats in first and business (all-aisle access from every first class seat) as well as Main Cabin Extra seating.

This would increase American’s daily frequencies of the route from the current 8-10 trips to a number in the low-mid teens.
