N.J. Operator Becomes Certified Minority-Owned Business

Posted on May 1, 2013

Worldground, Inc. of Totwa, NJ was certified April 22 as a Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) by the New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council (The Council). Certification entitles WorldGround to be listed in the national database of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), which can be accessed by 39 regional minority-purchasing councils and hundreds of corporations nationwide.

“The goal of achieving and maintaining the MBE certification has been an important component of our overall business strategy, and is an important part of our efforts to help our clients meet their business objectives,” said WorldGround president Jorge L. Peralta. “Organizations that have made a commitment to work with minority businesses now know that by working with WorldGround they are building diversity within their network of suppliers and business partners, while they receive the highest level of chauffeured car service from a well-established organization.“

“At the same time, we are looking forward to capitalizing on the MBE certification by reaching out to new customers and prospects who make use of the NMSDC membership directory,” added vice president of sales and marketing for WorldGround, Colene R. Smith. “This certification recognizes WorldGround as a bona-fide minority owned business and as an organization that is willing to make the endeavor to fulfill the council’s stringent requirements for designation as a MBE.”

The NMSDC has standardized procedures to assure consistent and identical review and certification of minority-owned businesses. A minority-owned business is a for-profit enterprise, regardless of size, physically located business in the U.S., which is owned, operated and controlled by minority group members.
