NY Operator Launches Web Limo Show, Biz Advice Site

WEST NYACK, N.Y. — Limo operator Ed Stapleton Jr. has launched an online business and podcast aimed toward helping operators like him build more profitable companies through proven strategies.

The Limo Profits Show, which debuted last week, is the flagship for his venture called LimoProfits.com, consisting of e-books, a blog and digital and web-based consulting. He hosts the show, which features interviews with successful operators, industry leaders and business movers and shakers. Guests are illustrated as cartoon caricatures on the website.


Stapleton, 30, said the show enables him to apply his interests as an audio junkie who enjoys learning from podcasts and books on tape. He has helped his father, Ed Stapleton Sr., run Driven Eco, a limousine service with four green luxury vehicles, near New York City since 2008.

So far, guests on the show have included Matt Strack, the owner of Strack Premier Transportation of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Bruno Teixeira of Limousine Expert. Barry Gross, operations manager of A. Goff Transportation in Virginia, is scheduled for this week.

Stapleton told LCT his venture targets useful information toward small- to medium-sized operators.

“It’s something I wished had been available when I started out,” he said. “I saw a lot of opportunity, but few people teach about how to go out and get clients, which is the biggest part of it.”

Limo Profits eventually will include a digital, web-based member site that, for a small monthly fee, will offer operators access to content and group coaching calls. The site also will make available videos, audios and e-books on various revenue-generating topics.

“There’s been too much emphasis on the operational side of things,” Stapleton said. “Revenue generation is the owner’s most important job. Most people rely too much on word of mouth marketing. That’s not good enough. You have to actively attract and convert potential clients into buyers.”

The Limo Profits Show is posting podcasts throughout the week during its debut phase but will resume a regular weekly schedule with first podcast posts scheduled for midday Thursdays.
