NTSB Delivers Crisis Management Training Seminar To Bus Industry

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Attendees at the American Bus Association’s 2013 Marketplace will have the chance to attend a one-day Crisis Management Training Seminar from the National Transportation Safety Board.

The training program will be led by top NTSB staff and will attendees through the steps of how the NTSB investigates an accident, the NTSB’s family assistance program, a motorcoach company’s role is in the investigation, crisis communication messaging, and how to deal and work with the media.

The seminar will take place at the conclusion of ABA Marketplace 2013 in Charlotte, N.C., on Jan. 10, 2013.

The seminar is sponsored by National Interstate Insurance, a specialty-property-and-casualty-insurance holding company. The sponsorship brought the price of the seminar down to just $199 per attendee. The ABA believes that, although motorcoach accidents are rare, it is important that companies be prepared and have a comprehensive plan in place if there is an incident. ABA offers, as a free service to its members, the resources of its experienced, award-winning communications department if they need help and guidance in working with the media, whether it’s during the aftermath of an accident or when the company gets a call from a reporter and the motorcoach company, tour operator or destination needs advice.
