ST. LOUIS, Mo. — BEST Transportation of St. Louis, which provides service to both corporate and social groups in the St. Louis area, has become among the first local limousine companies to purchase the new 2013 Lincoln MKT Town Car.
BEST Transportation, which obtained two MKT Town Cars in April and has another one on order, has made the luxury vehicle its standard sedan based upon highly favorable response both from chauffeurs and customers.
The MKT Town Car is a crossover luxury vehicle with which Ford replaced its long-manufactured Lincoln Town Car Executive L. The MKT livery edition includes a bolstered chassis that supports wheelbase increases of up to 10 feet for livery versions. The back seat has been repositioned for more leg room. A switch allows the front passenger seat to be pushed forward for additional comfort. The MKT Town Car has a USB charging port and a 110-volt AC outlet.
All MKT livery cars include standard Sync hands-free navigation, a rear-view camera system and Ford’s Blind-Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert, which warns the driver of vehicles in blind-spot zones. The MKT Town Car provides nearly 40 cubic feet of cargo space.
Kim Garner, co-owner and president of BEST Transportation, says that the MKT Town Car, which was first produced by Ford in the first quarter of 2012, has exceeded company expectations.
“Our chauffeurs are thrilled with the drivability, safety features and classiness of the MKT Town Car,” she said in a press release. “Response also has been highly positive from our customers. As a result, we have made the MKT Town Car the standard sedan for BEST Transportation.”
So far in 2012, BEST Transportation has added more than $525,000 worth of vehicles to its operating fleet of more than 60 units, including 16 sedans. BEST bought about $375,000 worth of new vehicles in 2011.
“When Ford announced a few years ago that it would be discontinuing production of the Lincoln Town Car, we began an exhaustive search for a suitable replacement for our luxury fleet,” said Debbie Rudawsky, co-owner of BEST Transportation. “After much due diligence to find the proper vehicle company standard for our chauffeurs and customers, we selected the MKT Town Car to be the standard sedan for BEST.”
BEST Transportation was honored with the 2011 LCT Operator of the Year Award by LCT Magazine in the large operator (31-50 vehicles) category. The award honors chauffeured transportation operators who have excelled in management, customer service, marketing, fleet quality, safety and community and industry contributions. The company is owned and operated by sisters Kim Garner and Debbie Rudawsky.
