Florida Motorcoach Service Adds DIRECTV To Fleet

Posted on May 30, 2012

MIAMI — Astro Travel & Tours Inc. of Tallahassee, Fla. now offers in-motion satellite DIRECTV in all of its buses. Astro’s fleet consists of 56-passenger Prevost H3-45 motorcoaches, 35-passenger ICRP minibuses and a 26-passenger Turtle Top limo bus. Passengers receive access to more than 200 channels of DIRECTV programming.

"Often times, people regard travel as a waste of time because they feel disconnected when en route," said Justin Firestone, president and CEO of DIRECTV Auto, operated by FMG Lifestyle. "Current programming from DIRECTV enables travelers to experience one of the comforts of home — whether they're sports fans or news junkies, they can now keep up on the latest highlights and headlines from the road."

Astro Travel & Tours provides chartered services throughout its geographic market — spanning northern Florida and southern Georgia — and anywhere else in the continental U.S. Much of the company's business caters primarily to sports teams and school groups in the area, but also serves a variety of businesses, organizations and religious groups. In addition to DIRECTV programming, Astro offers Wi-Fi Internet on all of its coaches.

“Astro customers have come to expect excellent services and cabin amenities when traveling with us,” said Matt Brown, general manager, Astro Travel & Tours. “Having the ability to offer in-motion satellite television fleet-wide is just one more way we're listening to our customers and catering to their needs and lifestyles.”

Chauffeured transportation operators can get DIRECTV programming installed in any of their vehicles through DIRECTV Auto for as little as $6 per month, thanks to the award-winning TracVision A7 satellite TV system from KVH Industries. For more information, visit www.DIRECTVAuto.com
