GENEVA — The Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II sedans offer improvements in design, drivetrain and technology. Full LED headlamps are standard on the vehicle and accent the Phantom’s new front end, restyled bumpers and rectangular light apertures. The new Phantom was exhibited at the 2012 Geneva International Salon d’Auto.

Curve light functionality uses electronically controlled reflectors to focus headlamp beams in the direction of travel to provide greater illumination of the road ahead when cornering. Adaptive headlamps change the cone of light projected onto a road in response to different driving speeds.

A modern user interface with a redesigned multimedia controller has been introduced for the Phantom Series II. The new satellite navigation system has been updated with functions that include 3D maps with landscape topography, guided tours, enhanced points of interests and composite route planning.

Information, maps and video content are presented on the Phantom’s 8.8-inch control center display, a feature underlined by eight programmable bookmarks presenting access to key functions at a chauffeur’s fingertips. Front, rear and top-view camera systems increase ease of maneuvering.

A new eight-speed automatic gearbox and rear differential enhance the driving dynamics of a V12 direct-injection engine.

Rolls-Royce launched the Phantom Series I on January 1, 2003, following a five-year development phase under new ownership of the BMW Group. In 2005, Rolls-Royce launched the extended-wheelbase Phantom, and in 2007 the automaker launched the Phantom Drophead Coupe. The Phantom Coupe was launched in 2008.
