Taxi Hailing Apps Catching Up To Uber

For years, the taxi industry waged a campaign to stop the growth of Uber, lobbying politicians and challenging the startup in court.

Nice try. While taxi revenue and medallion values have fallen, Uber says it’s adding 30,000 riders a week to its New York customer base of 2.5 million.

    First off, you can't read the article without a subscription. Second, I've been saying all along that the tech Uber has needs to be used by the industry. Most of what customers like is the convenience.
