Mercedes Shows Confidence In Driverless Tech

The news program 60 Minutes on Sunday aired an explainer on self-driving cars that played things down the middle and proved very educational for a mass audience largely uninitiated on the hot topic of autonomous vehicles.

While both the tech and auto companies acknowledge the many digital and regulatory obstacles still involved, they basically brimmed with self-confidence that these were mere procedural hurdles they would soon resolve so that automated driving could take over from imperfect humans and make the roads safer.
