Super Bowl Brings Heavy Demand To Indiana Limo Services

Indianapolis, Ind. — The pressure put on local limousine operators by Super Bowl XLVI has out-of-state companies heading over to Indiana to catch the overflow.

"I'm confident we'll sell out, as well as everyone in the city. I just don't think there will be enough limousines to go around," said Kristie Carter, owner of Indianapolis-based Aadvanced Limousine. The increased demand will allow operators to raise prices and hopefully turn larger profits during the event.

“On a normal day, a 10-hour package in this  [16-passenger stretch Hummer 2 limo] is probably going to run you $2,000 plus gratuity,” Carter said. “For Super Bowl, it’s going to be closer to about $4,000 plus gratuity. Our clients are going to pay premium dollars, and they are going to expect premium service. And I think they are going to be sad to find out we can't drop curbside. “Aadvanced Limousine runs 21 vehicles.

About 101 companies have registered with the Indiana Department of Revenue, which is required by law. Permits for more than 1,800 vehicles already have been issued. They cost $100 per vehicle. To get a permit, a company has to prove it has insurance.

Customers are cautioned to check limousines for a sticker with a picture of Lucas Oil Stadium and 2012 on it to ensure that they are in a legally registered and safely insured vehicle.
