Man, 19, Refuses To Pay Bill on Rented Stretch

UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica man is facing charges after police say he hired a limousine driver and refused to pay his bill after the service.

19-year-old Zachary Jordan hired a driver for the night on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, according to the Utica Police Department,.

On the evening of Nov. 23, Utica Police responded to 900 Kellogg Ave. regarding a theft of service complaint. The limo driver drove Jordan and his girlfriend to various places during the course of the night, including Olive Garden in Syracuse.

Police say that after dinner, Jordan asked the driver to some borrow money to pay the restaurant bill. The driver paid the restaurant bill and took Jordan and his girlfriend back home to Utica, where he didn't have the money to pay for the limousine services, totalling $850. Jordan was arrested and charged with theft of services.
