MAHWAH, N.J. — Flyte Tyme Worldwide recently made one last bulk purchase of 50 Lincoln Town Car Executive Ls to keep its fleet stocked for the next 30 months, following the end of Town Car production on Aug. 31.

Flyte Tyme bought the Town Cars — the luxurious industry workhorse and spacious client favorite for the last two decades — from Complete Fleet & Limousine Sales in Union, N.J. Flyte Tyme has used Platinum-colored vehicles since 2003 to distinguish its brand.

Flyte Tyme operates one of the 10 largest fleets in the chauffeured transportation industry. It was Flyte Tyme’s second large purchase of Series L Town Cars from Complete Fleet — the first being for 20 Town Cars just eight months before. Flyte Tyme also bought seven 2011 Expedition EL models, which allows it to better serve the diverse needs of its clients, particularly during the harsh winter storms that hit the Northeast each year.

Flyte Tyme Worldwide CEO Tim Rose told LCT the 50 Town Cars will sustain the fleet into 2014 when the company will need to choose a successor vehicle to the Town Car. At this point, Rose said he is undecided.

“We’re hoping Lincoln comes up with a good viable option,” said Rose, who also serves as president of the Limousine Associations of New Jersey. He is unsure about the 2013 Lincoln MKT Town Car, citing its glass vista roof, but added he wants to remain loyal to Lincoln. He said his father worked for Ford for 30 years. “Ford has been a great supporter of our industry and they’re an important part of the business,” he said.

Flyte Tyme has test-driven the slightly smaller MKS luxury sedan, and while Rose said he likes the full-size sedan overall, it is a little small compared to the Town Car. The MKZ Hybrid, a mid-size luxury vehicle, is too small and wouldn’t be accepted by Flyte Tyme clients, he said.

In arranging the deal for the Town Cars and Expeditions, Flyte Tyme was able to leverage its longstanding relationship with Complete Fleet & Limousine Sales.

Complete Fleet President Barry Trabb said in a press release that the dealership made a special effort to secure Platinum-colored Town Cars for Flyte Tyme. The Town Cars and Expeditions, which were made specifically for the luxury ground transportation industry, had to be special ordered. “This created a bit of challenge, especially since Lincoln was at the end of its run and there are not going to be any more Town Cars… period,” Trabb said. “But, as one of the top dealerships in the limousine industry nationwide, we were able to make it happen.”

Rose commented: “Complete Fleet did a great job; we are very happy with the relationship that we’ve built with them. I’ve known Barry for more than a decade, and look forward to buying more vehicles from him in the future.”

Complete Fleet & Limousine Sales offers a complete lineup of vehicles for the luxury ground transportation industry – including the Lincoln MKT, MKZ and Navigator L; the Ford Fusion, Expedition EL and E350 van; and stretch limousines. Complete Fleet is also a Platinum Vendor Member of the Limousine Associations of New Jersey (LANJ).

“Barry [Trabb] and Complete Fleet have been big supporters of LANJ,” Rose added. “Their annual auction helps us generate much-needed revenue each year, and their ongoing participation is greatly appreciated.”
