Virginia Operator Makes Connections At Networking Event

Posted on September 26, 2011

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Barry Gross, executive director of A Goff Limousine & Bus Company, took advantage of a networking opportunity earlier this month in the crucial university charter transportation sector while attending the annual SWaMFest VII networking event in Richmond earlier this month.

Gross is overseeing key new business outreach components of Goff’s business-expansion plans into several market segments during the next few years. He met with representatives of the University of Virginia, William and Mary, Old Dominion University, James Madison University, Radford University, George Mason University and Virginia Tech.

“This was an extraordinarily useful program in terms of A Goff Limousine & Bus Company’s plans to expand and enhance its services to the student charter market,” Gross said.

“Barry Gross helped A Goff Limousine & Bus Company make key new contacts, strengthen existing ties with school officials with whom we’ve done business for years, and built the foundation for our planned future growth in this critically important demographic,” general manager Dan Goff said.

SWaMFest VII is Virginia’s premier service provider and vendor networking and educational event, sponsored by the Virginia Association of State College and University Purchasing Professionals (VASCUPP). It attracts businesses of every size and service sector interested in forging potential connections with any of its schools or the third-party stakeholders with whom they hold large contracts.

For 2011, SWaMFest VII focused on the theme “Currents of Change”, addressing such issues as how the down economy has affected small businesses and how businesses can adapt not just to survive but to thrive and succeed despite the lingering economic uncertainty. Seminars included identifying best practices for winning new state contracts, exceeding expectations during delivery, and winning repeat business.

With a fleet of 60 vehicles, A Goff Limousine & Bus Company is the second-largest chauffeured transportation company in Virginia. Based in Charlottesville, Va., the company works regularly with affiliates worldwide.
