LCT Trade Shows Drive Record-Breaking Revenue To The NLA

TORRANCE, Calif. — As LCT and the National Limousine Association prepare for their Show East in Atlantic City Nov. 8-10, the industry’s leading trade magazine and trade group are reporting that the total sums raised for the NLA during the last 25 years have passed the $6 million mark.

The donations result from pass and sponsorship revenues from the International LCT Shows in Las Vegas and the LCT-NLA Show East events in Atlantic City, N.J.

The International LCT Show held in Las Vegas in March generated more than $225,000 for the NLA alone. The NLA receives 25% of the attendee revenue of its membership at both trade shows. This year, with resurgent attendance records, LCT was able to proudly award the NLA with the check for the $225,000.

The longstanding trade show revenue sharing agreements rank LCT as the largest and most generous financial donor to the NLA. The funds are a major source of revenue for the NLA, which in turn allows it to fund its many services and efforts, including hefty rebate checks to support state and local associations nationwide.

Without the support of association members attending the two shows and conferences, that donation would not be possible.

“LCT’s financial support of the NLA is a win-win relationship for the industry,” LCT Publisher Sara Eastwood said. “In our partnership, we assume 100% of all trade show risk, yet the NLA uses our events as its largest and most productive fundraising venue. The NLA generated $75,000 from last year’s LCT Show East. About 85% of the badge registration fees collected is passed through directly to the NLA. The NLA raised $35,000 in charitable donations for the Harold Berkman Memorial Fund. It also drew contributions to its Political Action Committee, and the free booth we gave to the NLA at our Show also helped them recruit new members.”

Why does any of this fundraising matter to NLA members and the industry overall?

For one, it keeps dues from going up; membership fees have been at the same level for 10 years. That money enables the NLA to boost its lobbying program through a professional firm, Cornerstone Government Affairs in Washington, D.C., and political contacts.

Regarding LCT-NLA Show East, one of the biggest benefits of the show for operators is LCT’s partnership with the National Limousine Association, which provides complete education sessions, programs and keynote speeches.

The next major industry trade show event will be 2015 LCT-NLA Show East at Harrah’s Resort and its new conference center in Atlantic City, N.J., Nov. 8-10. DETAILS HERE.
