Ford Transit Lands Starring Role On American Pickers

Posted on May 6, 2015

The Ford Transit enters its second season hauling loads for American Pickers starting tonight, May 6 at 9 p.m. EDT on History Channel.

The American Pickers crew uses a 2015 Ford Transit 350, a long-wheelbase, high-roof van equipped with a 3.2-liter power stroke diesel engine. This Transit configuration has best-in-class gas-powered maximum cargo capacity of 487 cubic feet to haul big finds and more than six feet of stand-up height inside for easy loading.

“We are happy to have Transit – now the best-selling commercial van in America – as part of such an interesting show,” says Yaroslav Hetman, brand manager for Ford Transit, Transit Connect and E-Series. “It really showcases the van’s capabilities and how we developed it with the customer in mind.”

Ford also launched Transit TV ads May 1 showcasing how the vehicle serves businesses that depend on it as their workplace. The ads promote new incentives of as much as $2,000 cash back and as much as $1,500 in assistance to customers who want to custom upfit their vehicles.

The Ford Transit debuted to the chauffeured transportation industry last year and several versions were displayed March 16-18 at the 2015 International LCT show in Las Vegas.
