SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — In an effort to foster better relationships with state legislators, six members of the Illinois Limousine Association (ILA) traveled to the state capitol April 21 for its first Day on the Hill event.

The day was centered around attending transportation committee meetings and discussions with legislators to establish a better working relationship on behalf of operators statewide.

“This was our first Day on the Hill and our goal was to make our association known to legislators and build better relationships,” said Greg Eggan, (O-Hare-Midway Limousine Service, Northbrook), vice president of the ILA. “We spoke with more than 12 state representatives, attended two transportation committee meetings, and I think we learned a lot about governmental procedures that will help us be more effective next time we come to the Capitol. Overall, it was a good day."

Added Brian Whitaker, (vice president, CHICAGOLAND Transportation Solutions, Barrington), “This was more of an educational trip than anything. We wanted to experience firsthand how our state government operated in Springfield and to make them aware that we were there for them if they had questions about our industry. In this aspect, I feel that we accomplished our goal and we will continue to enhance these relationships as time goes on.”

Also attending the event were: Travis Latham, Fellowship Fleet Limousine and Bus Company, Chicago; and ILA Board of Director; Muhammad Bhatti, Limo Corp of Chicago; Andrew Armitage, Vintage Chauffeuring, Minooka; and Julian Enescu, Inter-Continental Limo Services, Chicago.
