CHICAGO—Looking to be more of an industry advocate  in the legislative arena, members of the Illinois Limousine Association (ILL) will travel to Springfield, the state capital, April 21, for its first-ever Day on the Hill event.

ILL Vice President,Gregory Eggan (O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service, Northbrook), said the goal is to meet with legislators to make sure limousine operators are part of the conversation regarding transportation and regulatory issues and concerns.

“We have met with about 20 legislators in the Chicago-metro region but there are 178 state representatives that need to know we exist,” said Eggan. “This is a grass-roots effort with no particular agenda, but we need to increase our visibility with lawmakers,” he added.

The association's annual spring meeting is set for May 20.
