Posted on March 13, 2015

DETROIT –- Cadillac will use an advanced mixed-material approach for the lightweight body structure of the upcoming CT6 range-topping sedan. The structure is aluminum intensive, but the new Cadillac also includes 13 different materials customized for each area of the car to simultaneously advance driving dynamics, fuel economy and cabin quietness.

Looks long enough, like the old days, but yes, the roof line looks way too low!! I wonder what the trunk will be, since we need about 20 CF to hold airport luggage for trips of 3 to 4 persons. Except for the trunk the closest we have now (RIP LTC) is the Chrysler 300 or some form of a CUV like a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Premium trim package. Yes, this American built CUV has the most rear seat space for 3 people, has a 4 cyl engine for gas mpgs, and a lot of luggage room that a sedan does not have anymore. We all need to contact Chrysler and strongly recommend that the next generation 300 gets stretched in both the back seat (like a LTC-L) and the trunk, since 16.6 CF is somewhat small. And for those that use those oversized Cadillac Escalades, please consider looking at a Dodge Durango. Larger than the Jeep Grand Cherokee that it's based on, but 3 rows and luggage, if you need that much room.
