The Florida Limousine Association said Monday it has hired Philip Jagiela as its executive director, effective March 1.

Jagiela, a former Philadelphia-area limousine operator who served as executive director of the National Limousine Association from October 2012 to January 2015, will handle the administrative functions of the FLA. Jagiela also served for many years as President of the Philadelphia Regional Limousine Association before taking on the NLA role.

The FLA is the statewide trade organization for the for-hire vehicle industry. Its primary mission is to provide information and education to help members run professional transportation companies in a safe and legal manner. The FLA also acts as a legislative watchdog for the industry on the local, county and state levels.

Jagiela, who owned and operated Aries Transportation in Philadelphia from 1988 to 2013, is a 30-year veteran of the industry, and brings extensive experience in association management.

"We are extremely delighted to have Phil on our team. He brings a level or professionalism and integrity that will help build membership in our association and our local chapters,” FLA President Rick Versace said in a statement.

The next FLA meeting will be held at the International LCT Show at the Venetian Palazzo Hotel Casino Resorts in Las Vegas on Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m.
