SUMMARY: BostonCoach is fielding a team of cycling employees for a second year in a row as a way to support a major local cancer treatment and research facility.

BOSTON — BOSTONCOACH announced Tuesday that it will again participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge Aug. 6-7 to benefit the DANA FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE by enlisting a cycling team comprised of BostonCoach and BEST OF BOSTON employees. Having raised more than $50,000 for last year’s event, BostonCoach is aiming to top that amount this year by raising $60,000.

“Traditionally, we have provided transportation services for the Pan-Mass Challenge,” said Larry Moulter, BostonCoach president and CEO, in a statement. “But we wanted to become even more involved. Entering our own cycling team made logical sense.”

The PAN-MASS CHALLENGE is widely recognized as the country’s oldest and most successful charity cycling event. It is unique among fundraising events, as 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to fund research for more effective cancer treatments. Last year’s event raised more than $33 million for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and featured 5,000 cyclists riding across 46 Massachusetts cities and towns. Team BostonCoach trekked almost 200 miles from Sturbridge, Mass. to Provincetown, Mass.
