What separates a client from a brand loyalist?
In addition to closing $1.1 million financing, ZoomSafer has earned nominations for the Washington Business Journal’s Venture Capital Award and the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association’s B!G Idea Award.
RESTON, Va. – ZOOMSAFER, a provider of risk management software to prevent employee use of mobile phones while driving, recently raised an additional $1.1 million round of financing from WHITE BIRCH CAPITAL and SugarOak Holdings.
“[The] additional amount of capital will allow us to continue to invest in developing software innovations that are designed specifically to help fleet owners and operators manage the issue of employees using phones while driving company vehicles,” said Matt Howard, Founder and CEO of ZoomSafer. “Employees who text, email or browse the web while driving are a ticking-time-bomb in terms of corporate liability, which is why companies must protect themselves. This additional financing will enable us to strengthen our existing products, expand marketing, and help more fleets to comply with regulations, reduce crashes and save money.”
“Distracted driving is the leading cause of on-the-job crashes,” said Clem Driscoll, CEO of C.J. DRISCOLL AND ASSOCIATES, a chief research and consulting firm focused on fleet management.
ZoomSafer will use the financing to invest in the aggressive development of FLEETSAFER VISION, which is in a private beta stage. Howard is at the 2011 INTERNATIONAL CELLULAR TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION CONVENTION IN ORLANDO demonstrating FleetSafer Vision as a finalist in the CTIA’s “B!G Idea” innovation contest.
“Companies that apply resources to monitor and minimize employee use of mobile phones while driving are likely to perform better than those who don’t,” said Bob Spass, managing partner at WHITE BIRCH CAPITAL and Founding Partner at Capital Z Partners. “ZoomSafer’s software meets a growing corporate need to manage employee driving risks, and we’re excited to partner with them as they continue to grow.”
ZOOMSAFER was recently recognized as the recipient of the 2011 Frost & Sullivan North American Product Differentiation Excellence Award for Distracted Driving Prevention, as a finalist in CTIA - The Wireless Association's BIG Idea innovation contest, and as a nominee for the Washington Business Journal’s “Deal of the Year: Later Stage” Venture Capital Award.
For fleets equipped with smartphones, FLEETSAFER MOBILE delivers an active policy enforcement solution that automatically prevents employees from texting, emailing or browsing the Web while driving.
For fleets equipped with any type of mobile phone, FLEETSAFER VISION delivers a cloud-based analytics service that enables corporate management to empirically measure employee use of phones while driving (no on-device software required.
