LIMO DEAL: Operators Expand To Better Serve New England

SUMMARY: Exclusive Car Service completes a deal with Ellis Limousines, which now serves clients across a wider swath of Massachusetts and Connecticut.

HOLYOKE, Mass. — Operators David and Ben White of EXCLUSIVE CAR SERVICE in Holyoke recently bought the assets of Morris, Conn.-based ELLIS LIMOUSINES giving them a wider service area, more vehicles, and an increase in revenues.

The deal, which closed Dec. 20, 2010, expands the reach of Exclusive Car Service into the central and northwestern areas of Massachusetts and Connecticut, said David White, the CEO and founder of Exclusive Car Service, in an interview with LCT. A primary focus of the company is a 60-mile radius around Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Conn.

The expansion also allows Exclusive Car Service to provide service to the region’s elite preparatory high schools, tours of local wineries, and service down the Interstate 84 corridor in Connecticut.

The value of the straight purchase cash deal was not disclosed. As part of the deal, Exclusive Car Service acquired five additional vehicles, for a total of 19 chauffeured vehicles as of this week. White estimates 2011 sales revenue will be about $1.5 million, reflecting a 40% boost in revenue since Exclusive bought Ellis.

Both companies, which have a combined workforce of 23 employees, for the near future will operate under their respective names and web sites. Ellis Limousines is a division of Exclusive Car Service.

Exclusive Car Service is a regional affiliate for most of the major global and national chauffeured transportation networks, White said. Its fleet consists of sedans, 10-passenger stretch limousines, SUVs, SUV stretch limousines, and limo party buses.

The deal came about after the former owner of Elite Limousines, Harriet Ellis, decided she did not want to run the company any longer, White said. She had been overseeing the company since her husband, Robert, passed away in late 2009, he said.

With Exclusive now being licensed in Massachusetts and Connecticut, affiliates can simply make one phone call or visit www.mylimo5.com to book all of their transportation needs in New England, according to a press release about the purchase.

By using web-based software, Exclusive Car Service can consolidate data and automatically make price adjustments for its new Connecticut market. The software also allows clients, affiliates, office staff and chauffeurs to input and retrieve data from almost any location. Exclusive manages more than eight different websites which direct traffic to its homepage.

Recently ECS also has added a ECS AFFILIATE PROGRAM WEB PAGE that allows affiliates to join its network; use the program to find other operators; allows operators to find all users; and to buy and sell equipment.
