2011 INTERNATIONAL LCT SHOW: African-American operators and business owners met Wednesday morning to create a businesses association dedicated to minority entrepreneurship.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — About 20 predominantly African-American operators met for breakfast Wednesday morning during the International LCT Show to lay the groundwork for an industry association dedicated to enhancing the success of minority operators, business owners and executives in the chauffeured transportation industry.

The founding members represent 15 companies with combined annual revenues of $50 million, said Maurice Brewster, the group’s chairman and president/CEO of MOSAIC GLOBAL TRANSPORTATION in San Francisco. A formal name for the group has not yet been selected.

This group is the first of its kind within the chauffeured transportation industry, Brewster said. He emphasized that the group is open to ALL minority operators and businesspeople of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.

The group will focus on fellowship, education, mentoring, and mutual support under the affiliation of being members of the NATIONAL LIMOUSINE ASSOCIATION, Brewster said. “We want to help minority owned businesses grow. We are organizing the group together to create a support mechanism so we can mentor each other.”

Brewster said he conceived of the concept of the group himself.

In addition to Brewster, the leadership of the seed group includes:

First Vice Chairman: Darrell Anderson, President, A-National Limousine Service, Atlanta.

Secretary: David DePluzer, President/CEO, Chicago's Finest Limousine Service, Chicago.

Anyone interested in joining or contacting the group can reach Maurice Brewster at [email protected] or (650) 864-9701.
