L.A.’s “Boys Town” Says Limo Size Matters

The hip haven of West Hollywood — site of the famed Sunset Strip music clubs, the Santa Monica Boulevard gay club scene, and decadent Halloween street costume party — eyes a ban on super-stretch limousines.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Los Angeles’ highest-profile clubbing and partying hotspot may restrict the stretch limousines that bring the partygoers to its world famous nightclubs and music venues.

The latest limo drama was triggered by an operator who claims to have the biggest stretch limo in the world, called the Colossus, which is mounted on a Freightliner chassis.

New York Operators Oppose Stretch Limo Ban

Operators Douglas Schwartz of the Long Island Transportation Association and Kevin Barwell of the Limousine Bus Taxi Operators of Upstate New York went to Albany, N.Y. on Jan. 30, 2019 to speak before the Joint Legislative Public Hearing on the 2019-2020 Executive Budget to oppose a proposal to ban modified stretch limousines in the state of New York.
