SUMMARY:Team members trek 190 miles across Massachusetts to raise $50,000 for cancer research.
BOSTON — BostonCoach said Wednesday that a cycling team comprised of BostonCoach employees raised more than $50,000 by riding in the Aug. 7-8 Pan-Mass Challenge to benefit the DANA-FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE.
BOSTON COACH has a long-standing practice of providing transportation services for the event. The PAN-MASS CHALLENGE is widely recognized as the country’s oldest and most successful charity cycling event. It is unique among fundraising events, as 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to fund research for more effective cancer treatments.
This year the event, which included 5,000 cyclists riding across 46 Massachusetts cities and towns, raised $33 million for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute that was officially presented in November.
BostonCoach’s team consisted of National Sales Director James Long, Director of Human Resources Joyce McCarthy, Chief Operating Officer Mark Munoz, Director of Learning and Development Mauricia Rollins, SVP of Sales and Marketing Al Rosenbaum, Chief Financial Officer Doug Tate and Director of Marketing Jeff Wdow.
Team BostonCoach cycled 190 miles from Sturbridge, Mass. to Provincetown, Mass. in two days, and logged an astounding 12,000 miles in training for the trek.
“At BostonCoach we’re inspired by the Pan-Mass Challenge and the thousands of riders, volunteers and donors who come together for a single purpose: to advance cancer treatment,” said Larry Moulter, BostonCoach president and CEO, in a statement. “We’re proud of Team BostonCoach and the tremendous work they did in training for the ride and raising more than $50,000. A big thank-you goes out to all the BostonCoach associates, friends, family members and business partners who contributed to the effort.”
