The comprehensive safety program adopted by ETS International reminds chauffeurs to notice important things that can be easily overlooked.

RANDOLPH, Mass. — ETS INTERNATIONAL, a ground transportation company serving the Massachusetts region, has reinforced its commitment to driver safety by holding a defensive driving course.

More than 20 ETS International chauffeurs took part in The National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course, which was presented by the ARBELLA INSURANCE GROUP of Quincy, Mass.

The sessions covered ways to create a safe and stress-free personal driving space in and around the vehicle, driving to a destination without an accident or compromising other drivers’ safety, understanding the risks of hazardous driving conditions, and making safe and effective driving choices. Everyone who finished the course received a National Safety Counsel Certificate of Completion.

“This is not a required course,” says Arbella Insurance Group’s Roger Hebert, who has been trained by the National Safety Council and facilitated the course for ETS drivers. “John Greene at ETS International took the initiative and approached us because he felt his company’s drivers would benefit from a better understanding of the strategies and skills needed to be a good defensive driver.”

For Jeff Grossman, an ETS chauffeur who logs 2,500 miles per week, the course opened his eyes to some things he had forgotten. “When you drive so many miles, it’s easy to overlook important things because they seem obvious to you. You think you know everything there is to know about the road,” Grossman said. “But this course was extremely helpful in reminding me of helpful defensive driving techniques. And it showed to me, as an employee, that this company is serious about driver and client safety.”

ABOUT: ETS INTERNATIONAL operates a fleet of luxury sedans, SUVs, limousines and executive vans in the Boston and Providence area, and a global network that services cities worldwide. ETS International is a 2010 LCT Operator Of The Year.
