The big game day shuttle service for the annual Red River Shootout resolved last year’s fiasco when thousands of fans got stuck and missed the kickoff.

DALLAS — Reliant Energy, an electricity provider to millions of Texas customers, teamed up with E3 WORLDWIDE TRANSPORTATION in Dallas on Oct. 2 to provide hundreds of people with complimentary bus shuttles from light rail stations to the Cotton Bowl. [Texas lost 28-20 to the University of Oklahoma].

The annual TX-OU football series began in 1900 and has been played in Dallas since 1912. It is always an electrifying game with thousands of fans of the two rival schools in attendance. Navigating crowded streets in and around downtown Dallas has always been a challenge for locals and visitors alike.

For the 2009 Red River Rivalry, some 150,000 people rode the light rail to Fair Park on OU/Texas game day which resulted in thousands of fans getting stuck in a backlog of overcrowded trains for hours causing them to miss the kickoff.

To alleviate the problem with year, E3 began offering free shuttle bus rides about four hours before the kick-off. The RELIANT ENERGY marketing group designed and installed large removable window decals advertising free rides and the E3 Worldwide Transportation team did the rest.

Cheerleaders riding in the bus were encouraging fans to board the shuttle. Shuttles also circled Fair Park and offered rides to pedestrians leaving Fair Park after the game started. By conservative estimates, about 400 to 500 fans enjoyed free ride to the game.

E3 WORLDWIDE TRANSPORTATION is a chauffeured ground transportation company based in Dallas. E3 Worldwide Transportation provides transportation services for individuals and corporations, corporate events (meetings, conventions, and group arrivals, shuttle buses services) and special events or leisure transportation.
