SUMMARY: A runaway white stretch limousine rips off the corner of a hillside home in the Bay Area.

RICHMOND, Calif. — An out-of-control limousine crashed into a house about 3:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Yuba Street and Solano Avenue, authorities said.

The Lincoln Town Car stretch limousine barreled down a hill before the crash, in the 5500 block of Solano. It clipped the side of the house before landing between two parked cars, said Erik Newman, battalion chief with the Richmond Fire Department.

Officers who arrived at the scene said the driver was alert. He was taken to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez with minor injuries.

A resident was home at the time but was not injured, Newman said. The crash resulted in structural damage to the house.

The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
