New York Livery Round Table To Install New Officers

NEW YORK — The Livery Round Table, an association aimed at organizing New York City’s community car service providers, will hold an installation brunch on Oct. 20.

The brunch will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Courtyard By Marriott, near LGA, 9010 Ditmars Blvd, E. Elmhurst, NY.

The Livery Round Table is an association of seven associations that acts as a “coordination council” for our segment of the industry. Its board of directors consists of the presidents of the seven associations and two permanent founding members. The ceremony will install all nine directors and Guy Palumbo of Carmel Car and Limousine as executive director. Palumbo will serve on the board but vote only to break a tie.

The program starts at 12:15 p.m. The guest speaker and installing officer will be David Yassky, the commissioner of the New York Taxi & Limousine Commission, which regulates all for-hire ground transportation in the city, including luxury limousine operators.

Honored guests who will make comments include New York City Councilmen Peter Vallone and James Vacca.

Reservations are required by Oct. 15. Cost is $50 per person. Checks should be made payable to The Livery Round Table, 36-31 10th Street, Long Island City, NY 11106.

The community car service industry in New York offers a variety of for-hire “non-hail” vehicles including Lincoln Town Cars among more than 450 base/operators and more than 22,000 vehicles/drivers/owners.

Of those, the Livery Round Table represents more than 18,000 NYC livery drivers, 350 base owners, and more than 8,000 phone operators and dispatchers.
