SUMMARY: 360Limo makes the Bloomberg BusinessWeek list for its commitment to downtown and its growth since 2001.

DALLAS — 360LIMO has been named one of the top 100 fastest-growing inner city companies in America by Bloomberg BusinessWeek magazine and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC.)

Dallas-based 360Limo is ranked 56 on this year’s Inner City 100 — an annual list that recognizes successful inner city companies and their CEOs for entrepreneurship, innovative business practices, and job creation. The winners are determined based on revenue growth over a five-year period.

“We are delighted to celebrate businesses like 360Limo that are playing a critical role in revitalizing America’s urban communities,” said CEO Mary Kay Leonard of ICIC, a Boston-based non-profit organization. “Through their achievements, the winning companies exemplify America’s remarkable potential and the road to future economic recovery.”

ICIC began the Inner City 100 in 1999 in an effort to change public perception about inner city business. It highlights the importance of creating healthy urban economies to create strong inner cities. During the last 12 years, the 607 companies that have made the list have generated more than $27.2 billion in revenues and nearly 72,000 new jobs, according to ICIC.

360Limo was nominated for the list by the City of Dallas Office of Economic Development, to recognize the company as a “fast-growing, successful, innovative company that is committed to downtown.” With 46 employees and more than $6 million in revenue, 360Limo has come a long way since it opened in 2001 — just six days before the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, recalls company CEO Mark Shrayber.

“I remember my business partner and I sitting in our first, very small office, facing each other, realizing that the world just changed forever,” Shrayber said. “We thought if we can make it through this, we can make it through anything.”

The list of this year’s Inner City 100 winners will be published in the May issue of BusinessWeek. The winners attended the Inner City 100 Summit in Boston. The two-day event, held May 5-6, featured seminars at Harvard Business School and an awards dinner that drew more than 800 guests.
