Carrie Peele, secretary of the North Carolina Limousine Association, told members recently that State Sen. Daniel Clodfelter’s office has assured the association that there will not be a sales tax on limousine service brought before the state legislature.

The association waged a letter writing campaign among operators in the state to oppose the proposed tax. This is a major victory considering that other states such as New Jersey and New York already have instituted a sales tax on service.
