WASHINGTON, D.C. – Richard Kane, Chairman/CEO of International Limousine Service, Inc., the largest privately owned chauffeured transportation service in Washington, D.C., announced the appointment of Kenneth Sparks to the company’s Board of Directors.
In this position, Sparks joins Harry Linowes, Jack Wharton and Dennis Kane as directors of the 37 year-old firm.
“We are pleased Ken has joined our Board. Ken’s financial experience combined with his political acumen will provide tremendous value,” says Chairman and CEO Richard Kane.
From 1972 to 2004, Ken Sparks served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal City Council in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the Council, Sparks served as the Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity and as an active duty Naval Aviator and Public Information Officer and with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was named Washingtonian of the Year in 1987 and was inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame in 2006.
Today, Sparks is a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, an adjunct faculty member at the College of William and Mary Law School and serves on many non-profit boards, including the Washington Hospital Center Foundation. He is currently President and CEO of Ken Sparks Associates LLC, a management and consulting company specializing in public affairs and economic development.
