A limousine staging area will be constructed at O?Hare International Airport according to an ordinance approved Monday by the Chicago City Council?s Aviation Committee.

The site will be built and operated by Commercial Vehicle Center of Elk Grove Village. The cost of the development will be $6 million, and it will provide a waiting area for limousines picking up passengers.

It will include a car wash and a vehicle service center. Future additions may include a convenience store, a fast-food restaurant and a dry cleaner.

Commercial Vehicle Center will pay about $500,000 a year in rent to the city to operate the center. Construction will begin in March, and completed by August.

The plan still needs approval by the city council, but that is expected on Wednesday.
