AUBURN, Calif. — Investors and other prospective buyers looking to pick up a bank-owned home now can scan foreclosed properties in style. A real estate company in Auburn, the Gold Rush-era town east of Sacramento, is arranging limousine tours of foreclosed homes in Placer and Sacramento counties. A real estate company in Sutter and Yuba counties has a similar offer.

Up to 18 potential buyers can ride in the 40-foot Lincoln Navigator limousine being used by the Auburn real estate company, the Gold Rush Group. Agent Sidne Allinger says the idea is to offer investors and first-time buyers a fun time as they tour neighborhoods hit hard by the foreclosure wave in central California. Other real estate companies are organizing bus tours as they try to sell vacant homes in a slumping market.
