ECOLIMO on Front Page of the L.A. Times

LOS ANGELES — ECOLIMO’s fleet of exclusively hybrid vehicles recently received nationwide coverage on the front page of the Sunday Los Angeles Times. The Santa Monica, Calif.-based company has an A-list clientele and a growing buzz among the rapidly expanding ecologically conscious market in the area.

According to owner Y Fray, ECOLIMO is a traditional car service in untraditional cars. It has a fleet of nine electric-gasoline Toyota Prius’ and a biodiesel Mercedes. ECOLIMO appeals to not only celebrities, but also high-profile clients who are interested in making a statement about their stance on the state of the environment.

The company’s 2006 revenue was about $600,000 and its strength lies in its brand, says Fray. ECOLIMO is the first chauffeured transportation company to jump on the eco-friendly trend by offering strictly alternative fuel vehicles. It recently expanded its service to San Francisco and is considering operations in Washington and New York.
