DETROIT — As Mark Twain might have said, reports of the demise of the Great Lake Limousine Association (GLLA) have been greatly exaggerated. While rumors have spread in the industry that the association needs financial help immediately, the industry group actually has savings in the bank and is lining up financial sponsors for its Limo Fest event, according to Richard Greiner, executive director. (You can get more information on this event by going to www.limofest.org.) The GLLA took a financial hit during the past year to pay attorney’s fees in relation to its battle with the Detroit airport, but operator and vendor members have come through to pay these bills.

The association also announced a new slate of officers:

President — Steve Pixley, Tecumseh Trolley & Limousines

Vice President — Jeff Pardonnet, Metro Cars

Secretary —Michael O'Hara, M & P Limousines

Treasurer — Fred Girbach, Majestic Coach

Membership Director — Don Shellnuts, Shellnuts Limousines

Sgt. of Arms (and Executive Director) — Richard Greiner, Satisfaction Limousines. The GLLA’s contact information has also stayed the same: 35117 23 Mile Rd. Suite 210, New Baltimore, Mich., 48047. Phone: (810) 523-3221; email address, [email protected], and website: www.glla.org. Source: Great Lakes Limousine Association
